You're guaranteed to hit a home run when Nyger seed is up to bat. Pure Nyger is all finches have ever wanted or desired, and it's in your power to give it to them.
You're going to see Goldfinches, Purple Finches and even Mourning Doves.
To attract gold finches place nyger seed in a tube feeder, which has very small openings. This discourages larger birds from eating the seed and allows the finch to eat one seed at a time. For migrating finches, the feeder should be filled up in early spring when the migrating finches arrive in the early summer. Once they begin feeding it is important not to let the feeder be less than 3/4 full. If it does the finches may move on and look for food somewhere else. The consumption may also increase around June when the finches are breeding and there are more babies to feed. Nyger seed can also be fed to caged birds who require a seed high in calories and oil content.
Finch feeders must be kept dry. If the seed gets wet, the Finch will NOT eat it and look for a new source, especially in the winter. Feeders need to be cleaned regularly with mild bleach and water solutions to clean them thoroughly.
Each tube includes:
- Enough bird seed for one bird feeder for one week
- Love and kindness
